Dental Bridges to Replace Missing Teeth
Our Vancouver dentists offer dental bridges to fill the gaps left by your missing teeth. A dental bridge is a customized appliance designed to 'bridge' the space between the natural teeth on either side of the gap.
How a Dental Bridge Works
An empty space left by a missing tooth (or teeth) can lead to the surrounding teeth to shifting out of their proper positions.
This movement can result in pain and an increased risk of tooth decay, gum disease, and bone deterioration.
Unlike full or partial dentures, a dental bridge is a permanent solution to replacing your missing teeth, which can help to improve your ability to chew properly and speak clearly.
The Dental Bridge Placement Procedure
STEP 1: The teeth on either side of the gap between missing teeth are prepared for dental crowns.
STEP 2: A digital impression of the prepared area is then taken.
STEP 3: This impression is used to create a natural looking tooth-coloured bridge in a laboratory.
STEP 4: Once the bridge is ready, it is cemented to the prepared surface of the supporting teeth, effectively creating the appearance of a 'new' tooth.
